Every year CES (Consumer Technology Association) unveils some amazing creations in the field of modern technology, which leave us either impressed or amused. This year’s event in Las Vegas is no different as several outlandish inventions are making their debut. Here are some of the products that have the potential to become the next talk of your town for a while:
Tombot is the perfect robot dog for people who need a health support pet, but cannot properly care for a live animal. It is probably one of the most realistic looking mechanical dogs, containing all the desired qualities of a real furry friend. It can react to your touch and commands; the creators promise to keep on adding more features as well. It is rechargeable and connects to an app on your phone.
I’m all in for adopting a dog that doesn’t need to be fed, cleaned up, and be taken out for a walk every day. Also, it won’t get sick or die; technical issues may occur, but I guess those are less upsetting.
This pillow is unlike any luxury or medicated pillows you’ve owned or come across. It has been designed to cure the snoring problem, which could be associated with chronic illnesses like sleep apnea. The inbuilt technology senses our head position and sleeping patterns to shape shift accordingly. It contains airbags that adjust the angle of our head to improve airflow in the nasal area.
I’m not sure I would be comfortable with my pillow changing shape in the middle of the night, but I guess I’ll never find out.
Bosch has come up with an innovative solution to block sun rays with AI. If you think that the conventional car visor blocks too much of your front view and you absolutely hate wearing sunglasses, then this is the gadget for you! The virtual visor detects the exact location of the driver’s eye and only darkens a small part of the windshield that corresponds with the line of sight.
Anything that incorporates AI is rather expensive, so I’ll just stick with my $10 shades (my car’s old visor broke off ages ago anyway). Talking of car-friendly inventions, I would prefer something that could aid in preventing auto accidents during heavy flows of traffic.
A company that goes by the name ‘Charmin’ has assembled a solution for the biggest first world problem, i.e. when you are sitting on the toilet seat and realize that you are out of toilet paper. The Rollbot is a small bear-shaped robot connected to your smartphone via an application, so you can summon it anytime you are deep in shit.
If you don’t have your phone on you while you’re hanging out in the bathroom, then that would be a bummer. Also, this very same company has introduced another device that can tell you if a bathroom smells good or bad, without physically being there of course. Apparently, these people aim to give you the best loo experience.
Smart Trash Can
Towne presents the world’s very first smart trash can that shall prevent you from getting your hands dirty. The smart trash can seals the bag full of garbage and replaces it with a clean one on its own. The mechanism is totally leaked, stink, and mess-free.
You still have to get rid of the sealed garbage bag because you seriously can’t expect it to vanish into thin air.
